Private investment in equities Apr 2011
Private investors took £185m out of emerging market investment funds in the month of April, according to the Investment Management Association.
Investors in March, the month before, have been switching into developed economy funds - putting £337 into strategic bond funds in April, £136m into North American funds, and £96m into UK equity income funds.
ISA investment rose in the 2010/11 year compared to last year, indicating that households are chasing yield in equities.
If you take the view that Joe Public is a bad investor, then this indicates an equity bull market for developing economies and a bear market over here.
